Death of Mrs. Springer
Died at the Home of Her Daughter Yesterday Afternoon
Death came after many weeks of suffering when Mrs. Frederika Spring [sic] died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Cramm, at 719 Avenue A East. Mrs. Springer was born on October 2, 1848, at Wurtemberg, Germany. In 1852 she came to America with her parents and located near Evansville, Indiana. In 1867 she was married to Robert Springer, who was a soldier in the Civil War. In 1870 they located in Wabunsee County, Kansas, and sufferd many of the hardships of the early pioneers. In 1881 they removed to Rice County, Kansas, where they again took up the hardships of frontier life. Death called away her husband in 1910. She continued making her home on the old homestead until her recent sickness. She was the mother of twelve children, and is survived by nine, Albert and Lous Springer of Carmen, Okla.; Mrs. W. M. Obernoite of Fort Morgan, Colo.; Mrs. A. W. Baumer of Annette, Okla.; Mrs. Fred Cramm of Hutchinson; Geroge Springer of Los Animas, Colo.; Mrs. E. P. Yust of Sylvia; O.E. Springer of Bushton and Mrs. W.F. Rolf of Nickerson. She was a christian woman, an affectionate wife and mother and a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal church. A short funeral service will be held at the home of Mrs. Fred Cramm, on Wednesday at 3 p.m. after which the remains will be taken to Bushton for interment in the Salem Cemetery, where reservation has been made beside her husband.
