He was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Salida, Colo.
Charles proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and Elks Lodge. He had many hobbies and interests throughout life, including jewelry making, billiards, waterskiing, handball, snowmobiling, stock cars, gold trading and watching football.
He is survived by eight children, Charles, Daniel, Anne, Constance, Kent, Douglas, Margaret and David; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Cooper; parents, Elmer and Margaret Cooper; and eight siblings, Floyd, Marion, May, Ellen, Margaret, Elmer, George and Daniel.
