Virginia Ann Abbott, 82, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017.
Virginia was born to Ellis and Annie Lee Miller in Olney, Texas on May 26, 1935. Virginia and her husband, Don moved to Longview, Texas in 1974 and, almost immediately, joined Greggton United Methodist Church. Virginia was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women, where she was a longtime participated in all of their activities. An outstanding cook, Virginia contributed a lot of beautiful crafts at the UMW bazaars. Virginia was a gracious and lovely person who helped our wherever she could. As members of the Greggton UMC Evangelism team, Virginia and Don, faithfully, visited prospective members of the church every week. In her quiet and sweet way, Virginia reached many people for Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Miller.
Survivors: Husband, Franklin " Don" Abbott; daughter, Deborah Abbott Gerrity and her husband, Bruce Gerrity; grandsons, Shannon Greer, Patrick Greer, and Geoffrey Greer; great-grandson, Donovan Greer; countless friends and family members that will miss her so much.
