First name sometimes given as "Robinson," "Robertson," and "Robert." (I have given Robertson as the preferred name, but will be glad to make a correction with better information. On the Confederate "Widow's Application for a Pension," Nannie gave her husband's full name as "Robert Hendon Gallaway.") R. H. married Catherine Pruitt, January 18, 1859, and second, Nancy "Nannie" Pruitt January 3, 1871 (two sources give 1871, and another source gives 1872); Son of Anderson Gallaway and Delilah Ponder; Brother of Joseph Anderson Gallaway and Amos Ponder Gallaway.

According to his wife's Confederate pension application, Gallaway served the CSA "about four years" in Company F 17th Texas Regulars – "enlisted in the Cavalry and was soon transferred to the infantry. "

Died at The Grove; Tombstone not located, possibly grave is lost or was unmarked.
