Patrice Amati del Grande, a native Texan of Mexican ancestry, was an actress and the second wife of journalist and short story author, Damon Runyon. They first met in 1916 while he was covering the Pancho Villa raids and married July 8, 1932 shortly after his first wife's death. After their divorce, which was months shortly before his death, she married Richard Coffin. A TIME magazine article dated December 1, 1947 covered the robbery of $200,000, her estimate, worth of jewels and mentioned her husband, Coffin.
