I lived across the street from Grace and Short when I was a child. I used to sit on her front porch and snap beans with her that we got from the garden.
In her early 20's she worked in Coffeyville, Kansas at the Brown Mansion as a maid. I believe she also worked at Bliss Restaurant in Nowata.
