James Stewart Pierce, age 85, passed away peacefully at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson on December 22.

He is the beloved father of Susan Fowle, Steven Pierce, Timothy Pierce, and Tamara McCorkle. He has six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norman Pierce. His wife of 60 years, Patricia, predeceased him in 2011. Jim also leaves behind his beloved companion, Laverne Jones.

Jim was born in Plainfield, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force stateside during the Korean conflict as a radar man before graduating from technical college in Indiana. Jim immigrated to Northern California in 1960. After residing in the Bay Area, where he worked in the aerospace industry, he moved to Denair in 1971. He worked as a communication technician for Turlock Irrigation District for over 20 years before retiring. His greatest hobby/interest was helping people, which included fixing cars, building patio covers, wiring high school football stadiums and building a PA system for his church.

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, December 30th at Allen Mortuary. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM, Allen Mortuary Chapel, 247 Broadway Turlock CA; graveside ceremony at Denair Cemetery with a reception following at the VFW Hall, 1405 E. Linwood Ave. Turlock.
