Fannie Jo Nance Ault, 91, of Lampasas passed away Dec 26, 2017 in Lampasas, Texas. Graveside services for Mrs. Ault will be held 11 a.m. Friday December 29, 2017at Center Cemetery under the direction of Sneed Funeral Chapel with Reverend Sheldon Johnson, Pastor, Goldthwaite United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Thursday Dec 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Jo, as known to many of her friends and family, was an only child born March 6, 1926 in Lometa, Texas to Jesse and Alva (Ross) Nance. She graduated from Lometa High School in 1943 and is remembered by her schoolmates for her "whistling" talent. Jo attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, and was a member of PhiMu Sorority and graduated with a BA in education in 1946. On February 2, 1946, she married T. J. Ault at the University Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. They moved to San Angelo, Texas where their life of ranching began at Arden near Mertzon and moved to Lampasas in 1956 to continue ranching west of town near Nix on the Jackson Ranch, which they leased for 27 years. In 1962, they purchased their current ranch east of Nix. Jo was a homemaker and loved playing 84, watching the Rangers baseball games, fishing and playing golf. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association in Lampasas. She enjoyed spending many hours tending to her yard accompanied by "Fluff" her beloved dog and sharing the bounty off her lemon tree. She also enjoyed cooking meals for the family, especially having everyone for Thanksgiving and setting a beautiful table. She was a member of Bend Methodist Church and enjoyed baking her famous icebox cookies for all to enjoy on Sundays. She was preceded her in death by her husband, T.J. (2006), Granddaughter Shanna Hays (1994), niece Jeannie Ault (2015), and her parents. Survivors include son, Tommy Ault and wife Ronnie of Lometa, TX; daughter Jessie Jo Hays and husband Randy of Snyder, TX; two grandsons, Thad Ault of Lampasas and Shawn Hays and wife Tammy of Nocona, TX; two granddaughters, Stacey Hendrick and husband Jason, Joni Thorp and husband Randy all from Lampasas, TX. Six great grandchildren, Isiah, Chloe and Randon Thorp and Allison Hendrick, all of Lampasas and Bryce and Hunter Hays of Nocona, TX and several nephews and nieces. Honorary pallbearers: Thad Ault, Randy Hays, Shawn Hays, Jason Hendrick, Isiah Thorp, Randy Thorp and Ben Hur Garcia. The family appreciates the care of the staff at Spring Oaks Nursing and Rehab facility and Dr. Hay. A special thank to her Spring Oaks friends, Juanita Jass and Ben Hur Garcia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bend United Methodist Church, West Texas Boys Ranch 10223 Boys Ranch Road San Angelo, TX 76904-9989 or to the charity of one's choice.
