Matie Marie Evers
Matie Marie Evers was born to Henry and Margaret Ebke on May 29, 1898 on the farm east of Macon where she and her husband resided most of their lives. She attended school at District 25. Matie died October 21, 1977 at the Minden Hospital.
Early in infancy she was baptized, and on April 20, 1913 she was confirmed by Pastor George and received the Lord as her Savior.
On April 7, 1920 she married to Fred Evers by Rev. John Schaum at her parents home north of Macon. Her brother, Edd Ebke and Katie Jensen (Now both deceased) were also married at the same time.
Matie was a long time faithful member of the Macon Methodist Church and received a Life Membership in the Women's Society. Three years ago ill health confined her to the Long Term Care Nursing Home in Minden, Nebr.
Matie leaves to mourn her passing: her three daughters, Mrs. Hubert Bartels (Mildred) of Upland; Mrs. John Frerichs (Ruth) of Columbia, S.D.; Mrs. Kenneth Arment (Bernice) of Aberdeen, S.D.; sixteen grandchildren and 7 great grand children; sister, Mrs. Martha Mitchell, Mrs. Alfred Maska, of Denver, Co., Mrs. Lena Lynch of the Franklin Senior Citizen's Home; brothers, Ervin and Bill Ebke of Franklin.
Those preceding her in death include her husband and daughter; her parents; one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 24, 1977 at the United Methodist Church of Macon, with Reb. Roger Billming and Rev. Adam Ralston officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Alma Huisman, Roy Rodenbaugh, soloist.
Casket bearers were Wallace Frerichs, Dennis Yelken, Elmer Arment, Warren Bartels, John Johnson, Rodney Reiner.
Interment in Macon Union Cemetery, Macon, Nebr. Arrangements by Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin.
