Merle was a lifelong resident of the area and was a machinist at the shoe factory. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Merle was preceded in death by her parents, James and Zola Brawner; husband, James Dean Saltkill and sister, Margie Patrick.
Survivors include: her son, Danny Saltkill of Van Buren, AR; daughter, Glenda Stafford of Springfield, MO; brother, James Brawner of Galena, MO; two sisters, Louise McCullough of Aurora, MO and Rozella Rutledge of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the Galena Cemetery, Galena, MO, with Nilene McKnight officiating. Services are under the direction of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
A visitation was held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.
