Byron Ralph Cuthrell, 61, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 in Newport News, Virginia. He peacefully passed surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Cuthrell was born in 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Edward Cuthrell and the late Maureen Cuthrell. He was a graduate of Milligan College in Tennessee earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Cuthrell was employed with the Martinsburg Computing Center as a computer systems analyst for 29 years. His work ethic was unmatched and he was a strong conservative. A devout Christian family man that was a member of Church of Christ at Mountain View, where he taught Sunday school classes for many years. He homeschooled his five children and always enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his favorite places were The Pocono Mountains, Limberlost Trail along Skyline Drive, and because of his passion for history, Williamsburg, Virginia. His passion for the outdoors always kept him walking. Mr. Cuthrell enjoyed 1970’s soft rock music….Carly Simon, James Taylor, Chuck Mangioni, and Carole King to name a few. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be missed.
Mr. Cuthrell married Bonnie Schrumpf on August 23, 1980 in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Surviving with his wife, Bonnie is his father, Edward; daughter, Michelle Sadat of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; sons, Steven, Michael, and Scott Cuthrell of Winchester, Virginia and Mark Cuthrell of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; grandchildren, Kayden, Mia, Kayla Sadat of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; Miles and Trevor Cuthrell of Winchester, Virginia; and Delilah Barrett of Leesburg, Virginia; sister, Elaine Dubrosky of Elkridge, Maryland; and brothers, Ricky Cuthrell of Carrollton, Ohio and Robert Cuthrell of Norfolk, Virginia.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Maureen Cuthrell.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday at Church of Christ at Mountain View. A funeral service will follow the gathering at 12 pm with Evangelist Doug Hardman officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
Byron passed doing what he loved with the love of his life, his wife; walking around Williamsburg.
