Ellie Ard, age 86, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 in his home. Born in Florence County, SC, he was the son of the late Ben and Alice Poston Ard.
He is survived by his wife: Elwanda Norris Ard of the home; one son: Ronnie Ard of Lake City, SC; one daughter: Susan Ard of Lexington, SC; two step-sons: Barry Craig Ward of Plant City, FL and Mickey Dean Ward of Green Sea, SC; two step-daughters: Betty Jean Hilburn of Whiteville, NC, Wanda Kay Jacobs of Lexington, SC; two sisters: Myrtle Baggett and Lois Baggett both of Pamplico, SC; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Jolly Faye Cox; two brothers: Dorsey Ard and Davis Ard.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
