He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Walter Allen and Ruth (Pierini) Allen.
John was employed at Slater Park and Southwick’s Zoo for many years and was passionate about his work with wild animals and had exceptional love for elephants.
John is survived by his daughter Bernadette Casavant and his two granddaughters of Pawtucket, a step-son Mark Silva, his sister Judith Ashworth and several nieces and nephews.
His calling hours will be Wednesday, December 27th at 4pm-6:00 pm and a service following at 6pm at the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. . www.manningheffern.com
