Mrs. Matilda Weeks Buried
SILVER CREEK, March 11 -- Mrs. Matilda Weeks, widow of Gordon L. Weeks, died at her home, on Main street, early Tuesdav morning, aged 81 years. Mrs. Weeks had been ill but a short time. She was born in Fredonia, October, 1839, and was educated in the Fredonia schools, being graduated from the Fredonia academy. In 1865 she was married to Gordon L. Weeks, who died a year ago. In 1865 Mr. and Mrs. Weeks came to Silver Creek to live and have since been residents of this village.
Mrs. Weeks was one of the pioneer workers of the local W.C.T.U. and during her later years always remained an interested member. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Armstrong, of Pennsylvania avenue, Buffalo.
The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence, Rev. C. H. Dudley officiating. Burial was made in Glenwood cemetery. Those acting as bearers were W. A. Campbell, C. F. Shumaker, Laurent Sterling, Charles H. Sterling, Melvin Montgomery and F. C. Dawley.
