Duncan Willis Martin, 86, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Mar. 26, 1931, in Durango, Colo., the son of Richard Willis Martin and Ouida Duncan-Martin.
Duncan received a B.S. and M.S. from the University of New Mexico and a PhD. from the University of Illinois. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a scientist and professor/teacher at the University of Arkansas from 1965 to 1997. After retirement, he enjoyed brewing beer and being a potter at Double Springs Pottery.
Duncan is survived by his wife, Margot; one daughter, Siobhan Martin and grandson, James both of Portland; son, Ian (Katie) Martin of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Claudia Anderson; and one brother, Paul F. Martin P.E. both of Farmington.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at Greenlawn Cemetery, Farmington.
