(Lelia) Elaine Fredericks, “Tootsie,” 72, a resident of Markleville, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born Dec. 10, 1940, in Brookhaven, Miss., and is a daughter of the late George and Hattie (Ward) Netherland.

She retired after 14 years of service from South Madison Community School Corporation. She loved her cats.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ray Fredericks of Markleville; two daughters, Teril Lynn Taylor of Markleville, Dyanna (Bryan) Greaves of Tennessee; a son, David Eugene (Connie) Fredericks of New Castle; six grandchildren, Wayne (Laura) Taylor, Cody (Jenny) Taylor, Heather (Vlad) Molchadski, Angie Absher, Jill (Chris) Hauptman, Nathan (Amber) Fredericks; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Glenda (Jim) Mooney of Minnesota; a brother, Boyce (Reatha) Netherland of Mississippi; special friends, Ella May (Joe) Fridley of Markleville, Sam Banta of Markleville; sister-in-law, Mary Netherland of Mississippi; special niece, Debbie Netherland of Tennessee, and a niece, Jessica Netherland of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents preceding her in death are a grandson, David Fredericks; three brothers, Larry, Dewitt and Bobby Netherland; and her great-grandmother, Easter Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in the Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with James Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park in Anderson. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
