Dr. Roy C. Turnbaugh, age 84, of Geneva, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at his home. He was born February 2, 1921 in Nebo, IL.Dr. Turnbaugh was superintendent of Geneva Schools from 1964 to 1986. He was formerly a member of the Geneva Lions Club for 50 years. He also was a member of the Geneva American Legion, the Retired Teacher's Association in Aurora, and the Geneva Lutheran Church.He is survived by Zora his wife of 63 years; a son, Roy (Donna) Turnbaugh of Weaverville, NC; a daughter, Anne Lockwood of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Andrew and Peter Turnbaugh; also a sister, Bonita Walmsley of Alton, IL.He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Turnbaugh; and a half-brother, Bill Stone.Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third Street, Geneva. Rev. Paul Hayes officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday at the Yurs Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street (Rte. 38), Geneva. Contributions may be made to the Geneva Lutheran Church Parish Nurses Fund at 301 S. Third Street, Geneva, IL 60134 or to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 833 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607 or the Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 South LaFox Road, South Elgin, IL 60134.
