He served as a Sergeant in the 30th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He enlisted April 13, 1862 and was discharged in June of 1865.

FORMER COUNTY CONSTABLE DIES AT ADVANCED AGE

The death of Alvin R. Hensel, 80 years old, 2525 South Eleventh street, leaves his aged widow alone in the world.

Mr. Hensel died Saturday.

Mr. Hensel was a pioneer resident of Omaha and for years was a constable in county court. He was a member of the G. A. R.

During a recent illness his wife was constantly at his beside administering every little want the aged man desired.

Twenty years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hensel were married. Mr. Hensel was then 60 years old and his wife 20 years his junior.

Though Mr. Hensel has two sisters living in Colorado, Mrs. Hensel will continue to make her home alone at her present residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the residence.

Burial will be in West Lawn cemetery.
