Jim was born in Carbondale, Pa., to Samuel and Elizabeth Barcola.
He was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School. He served four years in the Air Force honorably, during the Vietnam War.
Jim was a great father and grandfather. He had a special happy personality with those big blue eyes that just made you feel good to be around him.
He was loved dearly and will be missed.

Note: On his birthday, Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at 6 p.m. a special Mass was scheduled in Carbondale, Pa., by his lifelong friend, Russ Collura. The Mass is for local friends and family who were not able to attend his funeral in California at St. Rose Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale, PA 18407
