James S. Barcola, 74, died in Simi Valley, California, of complications from chemotherapy for bladder cancer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Halina; his children, James Jr. and Lisa; three grandchildren, Zoe, Audrey and Addison; and his brother, Philip; and sister, Diana.
Jim was born in Carbondale, Pa., to Samuel and Elizabeth Barcola.
He was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School. He served four years in the Air Force honorably, during the Vietnam War.
Jim was a great father and grandfather. He had a special happy personality with those big blue eyes that just made you feel good to be around him.
He was loved dearly and will be missed.
