Mae Ellen Metzger, 84, of North Manchester, IN, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1996 at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Feb. 9, 1912 in Wabash County to Albert and Mary (Karn) Niccum. She married Orville E. Metzger Feb. 27, 1932 in Wabash County and he died Feb. 6, 1988. She was a lifetime Wabash County resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the North Manchester Old German Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters Catherine Metzger and Mrs. Billie (Esther) Blocher, both of North Manchester, and Mrs. Ernest (Leona) Acord Jr. of Atlanta, GA; sons Leon Metzger, Eldon Metzger, Wilmer Metzger and Mark Met-zger, all of North Manchester and Max Metzger of Silver Lake; broth-ers Edward Niccum and Walter Niccum of North Manchester; sis-ters Mrs. Levi (Fern) Long, of Rochester, Mrs. Dean (Dorothy) Byers and Mrs. Doris Boocher, both of North Manchester; 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchil-dren, and three step great grand-children. She was pre-ceded in death by a son and three grand-sons.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 27, 1996 at the Old German Baptist Church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was in the Old German Baptist Cemetery, North Manchester.
Arrangements were by Bender Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service.
