Anna Virlee Boerste, 86 of Ferdinand passed away Monday December 11th at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand. Anna was born January 13, 1931 in Dale, In. to Merlyn and Kathryn Elliot. She was united in marriage to Orville "Buddy" Boerste on February 3, 1951 in Saint Joseph Church in Dale. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1991.
Anna was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, and the Daughters of Isabella.She was a resilient woman with strong convictions. She was an avid dog lover, puzzle enthusiast. She enjoyed playing cards and was well known for her green thumb when it came to gardening and took special pride in growing her own beautiful roses. She also enjoyed praying the rosary. Anna was a devout Catholic and during her daily reflection would say the rosary as she was a woman of faith. Surviving are one son, Jerome Boerste (Melissa) of Manassas, VA.Four grandchildren, Erik and Emily Boerste, Elijah and Savannah Herschler. Two brothers, John M. Elliot & Jerome C. Elliot also survive. Anna was also preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Boerste, sisters, Mary Agnes Philipps, Ethal Joe Schaeffer, Kathleen Hile and Martha Nell Cook.
Funeral services for Anna Virlee Boerste will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday December 16th in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
