Pike, NH- Edna Louise Davis Amnott, 95, died on Friday, February 10, 2012, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. Edna was born in Concord, NH, May 14, 1916. She was the daughter of the Rev. Frank S. and [Rev.] Susie (Willis) Davis. She lived in Maine during her younger years and graduated from the Ashland, ME High School in 1934. She married a school teacher, Raymond Linwood Amnott, in 1935. The family made several moves. In 1949 they moved to Colrain, MA. In 1963, they moved to Otis, MA where Edna was the Town Librarian. She took courses to receive her Sub-professional Librarian Certificate from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In 1969 the family moved to Lenox, MA where, for 18 years, she was an assistant Librarian at Berkshire Christian College. She was active in church work wherever she went. After her husband’s death in 1990, she moved to Pike, NH to be with her son’s family. For several years, she was active as a Grafton County RSVP volunteer. She also was a volunteer monitor at Newbury, VT Christian School. Along with her husband, Raymond Amnott, she was predeceased by her daughter, Helen Tirrell of Cooperstown, NY. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Amnott, Jr. of Pike, Timothy H. Amnott of Hendersonville, NC, and Joel K. Amnott of Molino, FL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Estep of Charleston, WV. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, at 2 PM at the Newbury Bible Church, 16 Cross Street, Newbury, VT with Rev. David Lee, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Fold, Inc., PO Box 1188, Lyndonville, VT 05851 or to BICS (Berkshire Institute of Christian Studies) 259 Kemble Street, PO Box 1888, Lenox, MA 01240. Burial will be at a later date in Ashland, ME.
