Marge was born in the city of Stevens Point on December 5th, 1933. She was born to the late Lawrence and Daisy (Mansavage) Zakrzewski. Marge attended St. Peter’s elementary school. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy high school in 1951. Margaret married Henry (Hank) Yokers on April 19th, 1952.
Marge and Hank moved to Menomonee Falls, WI in 1955. Marge was a devoted housewife and mother. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish; she enjoyed working at Parish fish fries and being a member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Moose Lodge. Marge attended Waukesha Technical College for two years, an subsequently worked as a unit clerk at Community Memorial Hospital for 10 years. She loved her job and helping others. She once rode a snowmobile to get to work when a snowstorm hit the area. Marge was an excellent bowler qualifying for many State and National events, including tournaments in Las Vegas, Miami, and Lake Tahoe.
Marge and Hank moved back to Plover in 1984. They enjoyed farming the Yokers’ homestead. Her squash and tomato harvests were legendary. She continued to love baking, canning, and making jelly. She was an active member of St. Bronislava church, and was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also an active member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 548. Both Marge and Hank gave generously of their time doing volunteer work for the Red Cross Blood mobile.
Marge is survived by her husband of 65 years, Hank, her children Michael (Bonnie) Yokers, Kim Yokers (Mark Siebers), five grandchildren; Elliott (Rebecca Barrett) Siebers, Matthew Siebers, Paul Siebers, Rachel Yokers, Evan Yokers, and one great grandchild, Soren Siebers. She is also survived by her two sisters; Nancy Pliska and Sandra Shude.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Daisy Zakrzewski, and brothers, William and Thomas Zakrzewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday December 15, 2017 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava Cemetery. Visitation begins at 9:00 A.M. Friday at St. Bronislava Church until the time of mass.
