Joyce Dauber, age 89, of Whitmore Lake, formerly of Adrian, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2017, at MediLodge of Howell. She was born on December 20, 1927, in Tecumseh, to Clement and Ruth (Piotter) Covell. On November 22, 1945, Joyce married Franklin Dauber in South Carolina and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1998. Joyce was employed by Bixby Medical Center as a nurse and then continued her compassionate care as owner of several Foster Care Homes in Adrian. After retiring as a health care professional she went to work at Meijer for eight more years. Joyce was a member of Adrian Church of God.
Surviving Joyce is a son, Gary Dauber of Sparta, MI; three daughters, Diana (Jack) Stamper of Whitmore Lake, Irene Dauber of Colorado, and Janie Dauber of Arizona; a sister, Mary Jane Stokes of Tampa, FL, two sisters-in-law; Georgina Covell and Rose Covell of Tecumseh, many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Franklin, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Paul, Carl, James, and Richard Covell; and five sisters, Arvilla Covell Creger, Margretta Covell Creger, Maxine, Covell Oulette, Ruth Covell Drews, and Shirley Covell Opel.
Visitation for Joyce will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian with a service following at 1:00 p.m., Pastor David King officiating. Private burial will be at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.
