Ruby V. Garrett Jones passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the home of her daughter on December 8, 2017, at the age of 104. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Jones and grandson Robbie McKown. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Waltrip, Judy Wanner (Sandy), Connie Cason (Dale) and their families. She is also survived by her only living brother, Meredith Garrett (Betty Lou) and his family. Ruby has seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby retired as a Master Seamstress with Colonial Williamsburg. She had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church her entire life. To know her was to love her; she touched many lives. She truly enjoyed spending time with family. She brought such joy to our lives!
A viewing will be held 1 to 2 PM, Wednesday, December 13th at Olive Branch Christian Church, 7643 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188 and a funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s or the cemetery fund at Olive Branch Church.
