IRVIN MAJOR SANDBRINK, 87, of Winter Springs, FL. He was a WWII and Korean War, U.S. Navy veteran, worked in Toledo, OH for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance as a General Agent, moved to Louisville, KY still working with Lutheran Brotherhood and retired after 32 years. He volunteered helping to build houses with Habitat for Humanity and built a church (Abiding Savior Lutheran) in Auburndale, FL. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Sandbrink in 2011 (married 1948), surviving are daughters, Carol (Scott) Freeborn of Laguna Niguel, CA and Connie (Rick) Gatlin of Oviedo, FL; grandchildren, Benjamin Freeborn, Justin Freeborn, Todd Reid and Alex Gatlin and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Sydney and Zoe. A Celebration of Life will be held at St Luke's Evangelical Lutheran church in Oviedo, FL May 23, 2015. Published in the Orlando Sentinel from May 13, 2015.
