Lonnie D. Boynton, 70, died at his home in Winona about 5 p.m. Friday after an illness of two weeks. He was born at Big Sandy and had lived at Winona about 25 years. He operated a general merchandise store at Winona for several years.
Boynton is survived by his wife, whose home is also in Winona; six sons, Phillip, Earl, Ernest, Harry and Bobby, all of Fort Worth, and Elwin Boynton of Winona; three daughters, Miss Anna Belle Boynton, Miss Rose Marie Boynton and Mrs. Claude Oden, all of Winona; two brothers, W. H. Boynton, Mt. Sylvan, and S. B. Boynton, Tyler; two sisters, Mrs. P. H. Williams of Lubbock and Miss Della Boynton of Oklahoma City, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Winona Baptist Church. Rev. Edwin Johnson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Harris Creek Cemetery under the direction of Burkes-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home.
