Woodstn A. Glidewell, 80, Springfield, MO. , died at 2:05 AM Saturday October 18, 1997 in Primrose Place.
He was born march 21, 1917, in Newtown, MO., to Clyde Owen and Dora Jobe Glidewell. Mr. Glidewell was an inspector for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
He formerly taught Sunday School in First Baptist Church of Springfield, MO and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church at the time of his death.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lenore B. Glidewell, who died August 5, 1996, and a sister Willa Lee.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Gary W. and Mary Jane Glidewell, Collins, MO., and Clark O. and Susan Glidewell, Dallas, Texas; a daughter Gayln Sue Hayes of Hollywood, Fla; a brother and his wife, Jack and Ruth Glidewell, Harlingen, Texas; two sisters and their husbands, Shirley and Frank Lust, and Joyce and Ronnie Saragusa, all of Kansas City, KS,; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Rev. Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Buriel will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 PM today in the funeral home, however friends may call after 1:00 PM.

Mr. Glidewell was born in Newton, MO. He married Thelma Ashlock of Kansas City, KS and they had three children. Gary Woodstn Glidewell, Clark Owen Glidewell and Gayln Sue Glidewell. Mrs. Glidewell died in 1969. Mr. Glidewell married Lenore Buchanan from Richmond, MO who died in 1996. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. After his retirement he moved to the Stockton Lake, MO area then on to Springfield, MO where he lived until his death.
