She was born on January 16, 1925 in Madison County, Iowa to the late William and Clara (Boos) Martens. Vera was high school graduate and worked for many years with Northwestern Bell. She was very active in her church, Trinity Lutheran, where she was a longtime member and participated in the Trinity Circle and CART groups. She was a proud breast cancer survivor, and celebrated 10 years of being cancer free.
Vera is survived by her daughter, Judy (Jerry) Weir; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Martens.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Martens; loving husband of 52 years, William G. Niendorf; and son, Dennis R. Niendorf.
