Oliver Ephraim Godby, 58, died Tuesday at his home on Route 1. Although he had been in ill health for several years, death came suddenly and was a great blow to his family and many friends. Mr. Godby, the son of J.W. and Amma Godby, was born Jan. 18, 1891, and spent his entire life in Pulaski County. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was faithful in his attendance and was always loyal to his God. He was a good husband and father and always tried to make his home a better place in which to live.

He was married in 1919 to Miss Virgie Taylor in Somerset and to that union were born three sons, who survive. They are Ephraim Godby of Chester, Penn., and Clyde and Roscoe Godby, of Route 1. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard and Harvey Godby, of Bethlehem, and three sisters, Mrs. Josie Roy, Hogue, Mrs. Emmaline Dick, of Somerset, and Mrs. Alma Dick, of Science Hill. Funeral services will be held in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Thursday at 2:00 o'clock and interment will be in the Tanner Cemetery. The Rev. Boyce Jones will officiate.
