Alice M. Coberly, 87, of Sterling, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in Sterling. Visitation is Monday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are Tuesday, May 10, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. Joyce DeToni-Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Arvada Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. that same day.
Mrs. Coberly was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Pisgah, Iowa, to James and Clara (Heistand) Hicks.
She married Ira E. Coberly on June 7, 1935. They lived in Iowa, South Dakota, and the Denver area before moving to Sterling in 1975.
She was a member of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge and First Christian Church.
Mrs. Coberly is survived by son James Coberly and wife Cora, of Sterling; daughter-in-law Sally Coberly Peabody, of Upton, Wyo.; grandsons Robert Coberly, of Evergreen, Craig Coberly, of Sterling, Clark Coberly, of Wright, Wyo., and Drew Coberly, of Austin, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Ira Coberly, in 1977; and son Frank Coberly, in 1996.
