He died about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the V.A. hospital in Houston.
A lifelong resident of Kirbyville, he was a veteran of World War II and was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth Rains of Houston, and two brothers, Carl Irvine of Nevada City, Calif., and Ray Irvine of Houston.
Pallbearers were W.H. Pressley, Austin withers, Emory Haynes, Carl Scott, Earl Newman, and R.E. Stewart.
