Don was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Gonzales as well as a member for over 50 years of the Gonzales Masonic Lodge. Don also enjoyed being a part of the 1st United Methodist Church Red Hat Men's Lunch. He was employed with Ormet Corp. and Triad Chemical for 27 years. In his free time, Don enjoyed watching the Saints and LSU games. Don was a loving, playful, involved, and supportive "Papa" to his grandson, Josh.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann Newkirk Allison; grandson, Joshua William Allison; daughter-in-law, Debbie Allison Cox and husband Barney; brother-in-law, Charlie Newkirk; sister-in-law, Mary Sanchez and husband, Pat; nephew, Charlie Sanchez.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Vera Allison; son, Donovan William Allison; brothers, Bill, Calub, and Albert Allison.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1st United Methodist Church of Gonzales form 1:00 pm until Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at a later date in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales.
