Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Lester was born November 23, 1943, in Mertens, the son of Burton L. and Hallie (Hollingsworth) Young. He attended schools in Abbott, West and Hillsboro. Lester was a mechanic for Jupe Mills in West until his retirement. He also was a manager at Buddy' O Texaco for several years, Marathon Bomb Plant in Waco, Midway Auto Auction in Ross and Outlaw Karaoke in West. Lester enjoyed tinkering with motors and cars. He especially loved to go fishing and spending time with his family.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Young and Jerry Young; and sister, Yvonne Young.
Survivors include a son, Donald Young and wife Susan of Lacy Lakeview; daughters, Paula Veselka and husband Richard of Abbott and Amanda Benavidez and husband Carlos of Speegleville; a brother, Gary Young, sisters, Judy Grier and husband Dock and Diane Davis; grandchildren, Amber Arroyo, Joshua Young, Matthew Veselka and husband Armando Hernandez, Brianna Veselka, Justin Veselka, Lindsey Westermoreland and husband Jason, Brandon Benavidez and Calvin Carroll; a great-granddaughter, Joceline Arroyo; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Joshua Young, Matthew Veselka, Armando Hernandez, Justin Veselka, Brandon Benavidez, Calvin Carroll, and Jason Westmoreland.
