Married the former Freda Salvisberg in Galena, June 14, 1930; she died Feb. 14, 1964. Later married Margaret Brown in Las Vegas, Nev., July 22, 1967; she died in 1980. Stockroom clerk at Barber-Coleman Co. 10 years, retiring in 1970. Member St. James Catholic Church, 50-year plus member Eagles Club, member International Order of Foresters. Attended Galena schools. Survivors include three sons, William R., Arlington, Texas, Robert E., St. Charles, and Richard A., Rockford; seven grandchildren and a great-grandhcild; several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by two sisters, Clara Engel and Anna Weiss.
Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in Sundberg Funeral Home LTD, 215 N 6th St., with the Rev. Bernard J. Mullane, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home."
