Funeral service for Mr. Dennis Ward McGinness, age 77, of Smithville were held on Wednesday, October 24 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville.
Bro. Mike Satterfield officiated and burial followed at Keltonburg Cemetery.
Mr. McGinness died on Monday, October 22 at his daughter's residence in Smithville from an extended illness.
He was a retired farmer and retired from Warren Regional Hospital.
He was
preceded in death by his parents: Willie Floyd (Bill) and Vennie Ethel Judkins McGinness.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn and Toby Cantrell of Smithville; a
son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth D. and Sharon McGinness of Smyrna; a sister: Gelaska Adcock of Smithville; a sister and brother-in-law: Frankie and Beecher Luna of McMinnville;
a brother and sister-in-law: James Hugh and Linda McGinness of Sparta;
grandchildren: Jamie Cantrell, Lisa Hale, Teresa Atnip, and Kendra McGinness;
stepgrandchildren: Keith, Kraig, and Krista Huff; greatgrandchildren: Sarah Cantrell,
Hannah Cantrell, Isaac Cantrell, Lauren Hale, and Zachary Atnip; and a stepgreat-grandchild: Bailey Jo Huff.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Atnip, Andrew Cantrell, Danny Jones, Teddy Jones, Stanley McGinness, Jeffery McGinness, Wes Winton, Marlin Luna, and Bobby Luna.
