Nowels - Elizabeth Ann (Dorman) Nowels, wife of Thomas Nowels, passed away, Friday November 22, 1918 at 3:15 o'clock p.m. following a protracted illness of heart trouble, aged 66 years, 8 months and 1 day. She is survived by the husband and two sons, Frank E. of Oskaloosa and John T. Nowels of Des Moines. Mrs. Nowels has been severely ill only a short time but the indisposition leading up to the collapse was of something over a year's standing. She recently went to Des Moines to visit her son and while at his home was stricken with the trouble that ended in death. She was brought back to her home in Oskaloosa where she passed away.
Funeral service will be of private character by reason of the quarantine 1918, at St. Mary's church. Interment in Catholic cemetery. The casket will be open Sunday, Novmber 24th, both afternoon and evening at the Cheesman Funeral Home, First avenue east, for the benefit of friends.
