He served during WWII in the Coast Guard with the Marine Amphibious Division in the Pacific and was a star athlete in Wellesley. He had worked at Woderbread for 20 years.
He is survived by 3 sons, Peter Jr. of Norwood, Richard of Deer Island, ME., Michael of S.C.; 4 daughters, Judith Garza of Kansas City, MO, Diane Balfour of Dedham, MA., Paula Allen of Wareham, Deborah Shepard of Norwood; 1 brother, Alfred Santospago of Franklin; 3 sisters, Florence Smith of Wellesley, Elizabeth Gallagher of Natick, and Helen Santospago of Wellesley. He also leaves behind 1 stepson Bob Weiss, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and Stepchildren. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Henry and Francis Santospago and 2 stepchildren, Kent Irving Pineo and Janice Elaine Taylor
