Funeral service for Bettye Coslett, 83, of Palestine will be at Palestine United Pentecostal Church with Revs. W.E. Shiflet and Roy Bobbit officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
She was born to the late Charlie Maurice Griffin and Ida Rogers Griffin. Bettye's life revolved around her church where she was a member for over 56 years. She served as church secretary for 4 years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Bettye loved working with children and was a caregiver for anyone in need. She also had worked many years as a seamstress for the Garment Factory and the Wal-Mart Store.
Although Bettye had no children of her own, she leaves behind her church family and a host of friends that were closer than family.
Pallbearers will be; Allen Williams, George Smith, John Gean, and Paul Temple. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Hollingsworth and J.O. Hollingsworth.
