OTTUMWA — Rev. Dwight Lee Bell, 56, of 1435 1/2 Albia Rd., died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center after a short illness.


He was born Oct. 18, 1950 in Iowa City to Frank and Dorothy Williams Bell Sr.

A 1968 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at John Deere. He was a member of VFW and attended Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Bell; three daughters, Montoya Bacus, Dara (Luke) White and Monica (Scott) Barker all of Ottumwa; two brothers, Frank Bell of Omaha and Roy Bell of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren and special friend, Martha Sharp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bell Sr. and a grandson, Lucian White.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with Frank Bell officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #795 Veterans of Foreign War presiding.

Open visitation begins 10 a.m. Tuesday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.
