Joanne Broach Locklair, age 85, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will hold a private funeral service directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born March 30, 1935, Joanne was the daughter of the late David Lowington Broach and Gwendolyn Trader Broach. She retired as Executive Administrative Assistant at Perfection Gear. She then served as “CEO and Boss Lady” of Indigo Marsh Nursery. Joanne enjoyed travelling, crocheting, and was a member of Cashua St. Church of God.

Surviving are her sons, Dale (Debbie) Locklair of Charleston, David (Kathy) Locklair of Columbia, and Randy (Claudia) Locklair of Murrells Inlet; two step-children, Fran Kelley and Dot Byrd; grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Jessica, Jonathan, David, Dru, Kaitee, and eight great-grandchildren; brother, David (Betty) Broach of Matthews, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kershaw Locklair.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, P.O. Box 100551 Florence, SC 29502, or online at www.mcleodfoundation.org.

The family understands that during this time, people may not be able to visit or attend her service; and are invited to view the service via live stream at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at www.belkfuneralhome.com.
