Obituary of Alice Salas
Alice A Salas, age 90, passed away at her home in Las Vegas, surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Born May 21, 1927 in Holbrook, Arizona the first child to Isidora and Thomas Apodaca. On April 22, 1946 she married John E. Salas and together had two children, John E. Salas II and Sarah S. Vallejos. Always the caretaker, she watched over family and friends with a maternal eye. She was generous, compassionate, and treated everyone with love & kindness. Alice was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church, practicing Gods love in all her daily activities. She was a strong woman who worked multiple jobs, including pioneering as the first female in the custodial profession for the Holbrook Unified School District. Her hobbies included Bingo, crochet, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The long-standing matriarch who provided stability and the foundation of her family, her presence will be sorely missed in the many lives she touched. Her Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M on Monday, December 4th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Dr. Additionally, a reception will be held at her home following the service. Her place of rest will be The Holbrook Cemetery in Holbrook, Arizona.
