Robert E. (Bob) Blattner passed away on November 16, 2017 in Georgetown, Texas due to complications following a severe heart attack. He was 86 years old.

Bob was born on January 28, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, Roland H. and Clara Godwin Blattner. His parents and older sister, Gladys, preceded him in death.

Bob graduated from Harris Teachers College in St. Louis, Missouri with a degree in Elementary Education in 1953 and served two years in the U.S. Army following that. He married Marion Stevenson in 1957 and they moved to San Jose, California where he graduated from San Jose State College with a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. He taught and was vice-principal in schools until 1962 when they moved back to St. Louis and he started his ministry with the Baptist Campus Ministry. In 1967 they moved to Illinois where he served with the Illinois Baptist State Association as State Director of Student Ministries until his retirement in 1996. After this they made two short mission trips to Asia and traveled to Europe and around the U.S. They moved to Sun City, Georgetown, Texas in 1999.

Bob made God the center of his life and loved people with all his heart. He enjoyed sports, the Cardinals Baseball Team, gardening, traveling, reading, spending time with his children and grandchildren and teaching a Bible Study Class and he did it all with gusto! He was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas.

Mr. Blattner is survived by his wife, Marion; daughter, Carol Blattner; sons, Steven Blattner and Scott Blattner and wife Nikki; his sister, Doris Blattner; and three granddaughters, Shelby, Meredith and Julia Blattner.

A Memorial Service to celebrate a life well-lived will take place on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas. His remains will be placed in a columbarium privately at a later date.
