Helen was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Fort Calhoun to John and Elizabeth (Gross) Burmeister. She was one of 10 children. She attended Long Creek grade school, a one room school house, and Fort Calhoun High School, graduating in 1942.
On May 7, 1949, she was married to George Jipp. They were blessed with three children.
She was a member of First United Methodist since 1975, Eagles Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of American member. She taught Sunday School and Bible class, and was a Cub Scouts Den mother and YMCA assistant.
Helen L. Jipp, 92 of Ft. Calhoun passed away Nov. 22, 2017.
Left with memories are sons: Steven and Gayle Omaha, Keith and Lowin Hawkins of Logan, Iowa, Phil and Jenifer Starks of Omaha; four grandchildren: Andy (Kim) Jipp of Omaha, Nicole (Lucas) Rickersen of Dewitt, Iowa, Amy (Tom) Schwertley of Logan, Doug (Kendra) Jipp of Logan; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, four sisters and five brothers.
Memorial Service 11 AM Friday, December 1, 2017, First United Methodist Church, Blair, Nebraska. Officiating: Pastor Clark Christian; Organist: Katy Flynn; Vocalist: Jeanne Tranmer; Musical Selections: “One Day At A Time”; “Amazing Grace”; “Hymn of Promise”
