Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 908 E Sierra Madre, for Franklin (Frank) A Main, 75 of Santa Maria who died Sunday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Burial will follow in the Santa Maria Cemetery.
Mr. Main was born in Jerome, Idaho, and had been a Santa Maria resident since 1936. He owned and operated Frank Main Hardwood Floors in Santa Maria from 1945 until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Santa maria 6th Ward, and was one of the founders of the church food booth at the Santa Barbara County Fair. He was an originator and chairman of the Church's annual fried trout dinner. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local in Santa Maria. He was an avid bowler for many years, and formerly sponsored various teams, and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his widow, Evelyn Main, and daughter, Charlene Cossa, both of Santa Maria; son Jim Main, Santa Barbara; stepsons, Wayne Williams, Saugus, Bradley Williams, St George Utah, and Roger Williams Santa Maria; step daughters, Barbara Jacosmeyer, Sandy, Utah, Patricia Walters, Memphis , Tenn., and Lynette Evans, hayward; brother Kenneth E Main, Long Beach, four grandchildren, 23 step grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary.
