Robert Marley Collins


He was born on Thursday, August 12, 1926 in Monrovia, Indiana, to the late Horace and Grace (Marley) Collins.


Bob was a 1944 graduate of Monrovia High School and served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. After the service he worked 42 years at Link Belt, which later became Rexnord, where he retired in 1988 as a gauge designer. He then began a career with Walmart that lasted 27 years. He started working in the maintenance department and then he became an assembler of bicycles and furniture. The last few years at Walmart he enjoyed being a greeter.


Bob and his wife were members of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Martinsville.


Survivors are his son, Terry Collins and wife Patty of Martinsville; grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Bob was also preceded in death by his wife, V. Maxine (Broadstreet) Collins, whom he married on May 13, 1950 and she passed away on March 19, 2010; son, Danny Collins; sister, Betty Lou Malicote; granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Collins.
