Frank P. Chesley, 78, of Sanford, died on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Frank was born on February 1, 1939 to Norris and Emielina (Binette) Chesley in Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1957. In 1969 he married Linda Bernier and together they raised four children and shared nearly 48 years of marriage. During his working life Frank was employed at Cyro before going on to work at Vishay Sprague where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, bow hunting and fishing. He also was active in finding and registering gravesites at find-a-grave. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Chesley of Sanford; four children, Donna Aldridge and her husband Wayne of Revere, Massachusetts, Ronald Chesley and his wife Kim of Washington; Pamela Chesley of Sanford and Charlene Rand and her husband Jason of West Bath, Maine; five granddaughters, three great-grandchildren; six brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and his close friend, Bob Vachon.
A graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford at a date to be announced in the spring.
