CAMDEN, SC – Funeral services for Thelma Eloise Mincey Tanner, 88, will be held at 2pm today, November 20, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Camden. The burial will follow at the First Church of the Nazarene Cemetery in Winnsboro, SC. Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Tanner died Monday, November 18, 1996. Born in Statesboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Cardell and Harriet Maedora Spires Mincey. She was the wife of the late Hassie Jones Tanner.
She was formerly of Winnsboro, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was a charter member of the Georgetown SC Church of the Nazarene and also the Winnsboro SC Church of the Nazarene. She received the distinguished service award from the First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Tanner was a former Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Azalee Kelly of Camden, SC, Mary Elizabeth (Oliver) Blake of Destin, FL; sons, Robert Wesley (Madeline) Tanner of Aiken, SC, Kenneth Earle (Phyllis) Tanner of Pelion, SC, and Marvin Edgar (Rachel) Tanner of Graniteville, SC; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Lee (Marian) Hudson of Camden, SC; a brother, Elton Douglas (Ruby) Mincey of Hopkins, SC.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 2024 Concord Drive, Camden, SC 29020'
