Grace Morrison Alexander, 87, of Salem, passed away Saturday, November 27, 1999. She was born in Roanoke County to the late William and Elma Snead Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alexander, Sr., one daughter, Carnita Price, one grandson, Tyrone Claytor and one sister, Ellen Logan.

Survivors include one daughter, E. Grace Williams, Salem; two sons, John E. Alexander, Jr., Roanoke and Maynard (Linda) Alexander, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Leonard (Maurice) Morrison, Salem; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Willie Thompson, New York, N.Y.; ten grandchildren; a very devoted friend, Mrs. Gertrude Harris of Salem; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Mrs. Alexander would like to thank Shepherd Hospice and Richfield Nursing Home for their care. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. Adrian Dowell will officiate. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
