John H. Abbott
John H. Abbott, 82, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 17, 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lake Tanglewood Community Church with the Rev. Roger Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 315 E. Fifth.
Mr. Abbott was born in Excelsor, Ark., moved to Amarillo in 1951 from Hollister, Calif. and to Lake Tanglewood 24 years ago. He served with the Navy during World War II. He was a retired electrical estimator for A-1 Electric Company, and had been a member of Lake Tanglewood Church for 24 years.
He married Viola Hale in 1941 at Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Sargent of Austin; a son, John D. Abbott of Amarillo; a sister, Flossie Lesley of McAlester; and three grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
